My First Two Weeks in Israel - Day 4 - Stroll and Dinner in Tel Aviv Waterfront

Saturday, April 2, 2016 – Stroll and Dinner in Tel Aviv Waterfront

Today was another marvellous day!  Yaffa and I travelled to Tel Aviv via “Sherut,” a collective way of transportation, other than the public bus, which does not operate on Shabbat. We were picked up from the bus station by Shula, an unknown friend of a friend, whom I had contacted the day before to explore the possibility of renting a room in her 3-bedroom apartment.  Shula drove us to her flat and pleasantly agreed to house me temporarily for two months for a fee that Yaffa thought was reasonable. While I shied away from another move, staying in Yaffa’s home was no longer viable, given that her space is too small and there was no room for my belongings. I also sensed her need for space, a feeling that I fully understand and support. I liked Shula’s apartment as soon as I stepped foot in it. I sensed good energy, so I at the end of the visit I confirmed my interest, pending confirmation the next day.
After this visit, Shula was very kind to drive us into town as close as possible to the beach where Yaffa and I enjoyed ourselves immensely walking along the boardwalk. We settled in a nice restaurant by the water, ate, drank and shared a great time. Being by the sea, the cold wind percolated through our light dress, so we decided to wrap ourselves up in the navy blue blankets made available by the restaurant host. As it was getting late, we took a taxi home.Today was another marvellous day!  Yaffa and I travelled to Tel Aviv via “Sherut,” a collective way of transportation, other than the public bus, which does not operate on Shabbat.
